Spring has sprung!

With the clocks going forward this weekend, it’s official, Spring has sprung! I love Spring – mornings filled with warm light, snow slowly receding from the mountains, lambs playing in the fields and trees heavy with beautiful blossom…. all signalling the end of Winter and better than that, Summer is just around the corner! It’s difficult to be anything other than excited and inspired, and so for those brides, like me, in love with Spring and planning a wedding for this special time of year here are two rather gorgeous Mood Boards.

First, a gorgeous green, ivory and caramel colour scheme, inspired by apple blossom and vintage lace – it’s so fresh and pretty and perfectly balances vintage with contemporary……

Shoes Green Rosazissimo from Louboutin, Necklace and matching bangles from K Garner Designs on Etsy, Invite Leigha Sping from Bella Figura, Statement Glamorous Garter from Its My Day on Etsy, Bridesmaid Dress from Lazaro, Apple Green Leaf Beads from Bellas Beads and More on Etsy, Vintage Lace Bunting from Ravenhill, which has sadly now closed, but I found similar on Etsy

After recently coming across some real life blushing brides (on Style Me Pretty – this oh so pretty Seattle Wedding and this simply divine Montecito Wedding) in beautiful dresses by this designer, I think a Lazaro gown in vintage lace would compliment this theme perfectly – this stunning design (below) with its exquisite embroidered floral overlay and silk organza flowers cascading down the skirt……

Or this more delicate embroidered net gown with its scalloped hem and chapel train ……

And the look would truly be completed with this lovely, lovely, lovely necklace from BHLDN……

Or, I absolutely adore the open back of this simply stunning Jim Hjelm gown of Alencon Lace, with floral detail and a chapel train……

My second Spring Mood Board was inspired by some precious childhood memories. I am no girly girl, so pastels and pinks have never really been me (I’m more a dark, strong primary colours – reds and blues, kinda gal) but, ever since my Mum planted a weeping cherry blossom tree in the front garden of the home in England I grew up in, I have loved cherry blossom and so here is some ‘Pretty Cherry Blossom Pink’ inspiration……

Pink Vintage Inspiration Board

Invites from Chauhie on Etsy , Pink Diamond Engagement Ring from Tiffany’s, Pink Diamond Wedding Ring from Tiffany’s, Shoes from Badgley Mischka Carlo, Bridesmaid’s dress from Alvina Valenta, Blossom Hairband from Two Pearls in a Pod on Etsy, Blossom Hair Piece from The Honeycomb on Etsy, Pom from Pom Tree on Etsy, Pink Beads fromBella’s Beads and More on Etsy

With a pure white rather than ivory this colour scheme is bright, whilst a nice platinum grey keeps it from looking sickly sweet. I love the headband and headdress I came across on Etsy (I will be doing a post on Floral Headdresses soon!)

For this oh so pretty cherry blossom theme I would choose an equally pretty bridal gown, like this tulle fishtail gown with handbeaded embroidery and a matching mantilla veil from  Lazaro……

Or this Tara Keely design with its scalloped neckline and boned bodice……

These Lazaro gowns, with such intricate floral embellishments in such sumptuous fabrics are simply Spring Perfection!
