Utterly Gorgeous Coloured Gowns for the Unconventional Bride

For me, having a vintage inspired wedding was about trying to create a look personal and unique to me – when I was younger I was adamant I would get married in black, so obviously my wedding was always destined to be unique! When planning our wedding I did consider challenging convention and going with a coloured wedding dress, but I am afraid to say I found it all too difficult and chose the easy Ivory option. But after my perfectly Vintage Inspired Wedding I came across this incredibly inspirational real life wedding bridal perfection on 100 Layer Cake Green Deco Bridal Dress by Jenny Packham

Forever Holly – Inspiration for a chic Breakfast at Tiffany’s themed Wedding

Following my blissful afternoon of Audrey the other weekend and my subsequent Style Icon post I began to muse on how a bride might channel the great Miss Hepburn and infuse their big day with some Breakfast at Tiffany’s style….. and after a few hours surfing the wide world of the web I pieced together a couple of rather fabulous (even if I do say so myself), hopefully inspirational, Mood Boards. My first is a very dramatic and elegant monochrome, ideal for Winter weddings when these striking colours would photograph so well!

Sunday Style Icon: Audrey Hepburn

A blissful Sunday afternoon lost in epic Audrey – I am talking Hepburn, of course! (Funny Face followed by Breakfast at Tiffany’s) gave me an exciting new idea for my blog, ‘Sunday Style Icons’!

Audrey Hepburn - Vintage Pastel Pink

Style Icon is a term brandished far too liberally for my liking, to describe the current crop of fashionistas, who in 50 years will never be remembered. True Style Icons’ effortless elegance and grace however live forever – and are a fabulous source of vintage inspiration for brides!

Beautiful Vintage Jewellery – ‘Vintage Bella Bride’

I love vintage jewellery and always have done – my poor Nan, bless her, was forever finding her jewellery box raided and me looking like…..

Nothing can complete a bridal look like a bit of glitz and sparkle! And it is amazing how much more impressive and affecting vintage jewellery is – knowing the pieces have history, have a story of their own, have been worn and loved by others from another era, there is nothing like it. My lovely husband bought me two pieces for our special day – a gorgeous bracelet and the most divine earrings, that just made me feel SO glamorous!

But as vintage has become increasingly fashionable genuine, good quality and reasonably priced jewellery has become equally increasingly hard to find! Well, after discovering the fab Dear Emma Stationery shop on Etsy, with its fantastic range of vintage wedding stationery, I recently paid a visit to their sister jewellery store Vintage Bella Bride – and I was not disappointed, it is an Aladdin’s Cave of loveliness!

I love this art deco Pave and Baguette Rhinestone Bracelet – you can just see that it will wrap around your wrist so luxuriantly.
