Sneak Peak of Posts to come….

Recently, in my constant search for fabulous new designers and wedding suppliers, I have discovered the most delectable wedding dresses, invites, jewellery and accessories – many of which I had never come across in the UK!

I have plans to do Posts on all of them in the not too distant future, but in the mean time I wanted to capture the headlines and highlights, as a reminder for me and a bit of a sneak peak of things to come.

The Juliet Cap Veil Revival

After my post regarding the flawlessly chic, vintage wedding of Kate Moss and her absolutely stunning veil, I had a mini Juliet cap veil infatuation!

As a bride I chose not to have a veil – now I wonder why?! (although I still adore my deco inspired asymmetric hairband! ) The incredible Vera Wang says “The wedding veil is at once sacred and seductive and I couldn’t agree more – especially some of the glorious veils I came across, they would simply be the crowning accessory for any vintage inspired bride!

Today, the Juliet Cap Veil is associated with the 1920’s and 30’s and images of Brides with huge oversized bouquets, wearing gorgeous silk bias cut wedding dresses but it was originally fashioned in the 16th Century! The name actually stems from that most romantic Shakespeare play ‘Romeo and Juliet’ – original drawings of Juliet depicted her wearing a cap that fit neatly to the top of her head.

I think it only right that the first designer I feature on my blog should be the designer I chose for my own wedding!

Jenny Packham is the award-winning British designer (International Couture Bridal Designer of the Year in 2007 and British Bridal Dress Designer in 2008) now world-renowned for her stunning, vintage inspired bridal dresses – she is the designer any bride wishing to recreate the glamour of a bygone era turns to, and its easy to see why…..

So evocative of the glamorous 1930s, I love the decadence of her designs, the opulence of the fabrics and the exquisitely lavish embellishments. The silhouettes she creates are fabulously fluid, her dresses are unstructured, yet cut in such a way that they fit and flatter.
