Beautiful Vintage Jewellery – ‘Vintage Bella Bride’

I love vintage jewellery and always have done – my poor Nan, bless her, was forever finding her jewellery box raided and me looking like…..

Nothing can complete a bridal look like a bit of glitz and sparkle! And it is amazing how much more impressive and affecting vintage jewellery is – knowing the pieces have history, have a story of their own, have been worn and loved by others from another era, there is nothing like it. My lovely husband bought me two pieces for our special day – a gorgeous bracelet and the most divine earrings, that just made me feel SO glamorous!

But as vintage has become increasingly fashionable genuine, good quality and reasonably priced jewellery has become equally increasingly hard to find! Well, after discovering the fab Dear Emma Stationery shop on Etsy, with its fantastic range of vintage wedding stationery, I recently paid a visit to their sister jewellery store Vintage Bella Bride – and I was not disappointed, it is an Aladdin’s Cave of loveliness!

I love this art deco Pave and Baguette Rhinestone Bracelet – you can just see that it will wrap around your wrist so luxuriantly.

Flawless Vintage Chic

It’s typical that whilst planning my wedding blog and getting it up and running there have been no end of gorgeous celebrity (and royal!) weddings. The most recent and, in my opinion most vintage wow, was Kate Moss’s beautiful bohemian wedding to Jamie Hince, in a quiet village in the English Cotswalds.

Whilst I have not always been the biggest fan of Kate Moss’s style, on her wedding day I can do nothing but admit that her style was flawless vintage chic and I absolutely adored it

From the stunning sheer, bias cut, art deco inspired, John Galliano gown – which has the most incredible peacock feather embellishment of gold beading…..

To the exquisite matching Juliet cap veil…..

Our Wedding Inspiration

I love creating moodboards! (as you will discover)  There is something poetic, pleasing, rewarding and indeed a little addictive about finding beautiful images and piecing them together to create a unique snapshot of your lusts, a fusion of your hopes, dreams and loves.

After sharing our wedding photos, I thought I would share how I pieced our wedding together, where my ideas came from, what inspired me, where I started, how my blank canvas became…..

Choosing one style or theme was one of the hardest things for me. I knew I wanted different, vintage and unique but I think I could have been quite happy with any number of themes – Pride & Prejudice (if only Martin hadn’t refused to wear tight trousers :-)), Hollywood’s Golden Age, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, The Great Gatsby….

The key was finding that first piece and ours was the venue. Constrained by timing and numbers finding a beautiful, available and affordable venue that would give us the truly intimate wedding we wanted had to come first.

Once we had found the stunning East Close Hotel, with its Art Deco styled exterior and sumptuous interior, an impression of the wedding look and feel I wanted started to form and I then turned my attention to the dress.
